Students from Years 1 - 12 have the opportunity to be involved in the ensemble based performance program. Instrumental ensemble opportunities include Concert Bands, Stage Bands, Symphony Orchestra, String and Guitar Ensembles and other exciting ensembles.
A contemporary music stream is also offered where students can specialise in jazz or rock styles and participate in contemporary ensembles such as Rock/Jazz bands and JPConnection.
Student involvement in the Instrumental Performance Program is focused on participation in performance groups and is supported by enrolment in group lessons with the option of private tuition. Students may also elect to undertake music examinations such as A.M.E.B, Trinity etc.
The School of Performing Arts recommends that piano tuition is available from Prep, strings and guitar tuition from Year 3 and instrumental/band tuition from Year 5. Enrolment of younger students may be possible following consultation with and assessment by School of Performing Arts staff. Student participation in the Instrumental Program requires a full year commitment.
