Accommodation Officer (long-term)

 

The Position:

We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated person to join our team for a nine-month maternity contract.  The role is full-time, five days per week, from 8am to 4.30pm.

The Accommodation Officer (long-term) is responsible for the placement and monitoring of the accommodation arrangements for all John Paul College long-term homestay students.

This role will support all international students (long-term) requiring accommodation at the College and will be responsible for the provision of high quality student welfare and accommodation services to international students.  This will be done by ensuring their placement and overseeing policies and procedures of importance to these students.

As the first point of contact for homestay, you will ensure a high standard of service is provided promptly to students, parents, families, staff and the public.

Successful candidates will be customer-service oriented with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.  An awareness of international students and their needs will be essential.

Experience and Skills Profile:

  • Experience in a similar homestay role
  • A passion for customer service and an understanding of international students
  • Empathy and cultural awareness
  • Excellent spoken and written communication skills
  • Preference will be given to the candidate with fluency in a written and spoken language other than English (Japanese, Chinese, Korean) and proficient English skills.
  • A friendly and professional manner and excellent presentation
  • Advanced computer skills, including MS Office, databases and student management systems
  • Pro-active – initiative
  • Only permanent residents and Australian citizens need apply
