Head of College

John Paul College is a co-educational and ecumenical day and boarding school located in Daisy Hill, 25km south of Brisbane’s CBD. The College motto of Unity, Christ and Learning is at the heart of the College. Founded in 1982, the College educates over 2,000 domestic and international students from childcare to Year 12 and has a reputation as one of Australia’s most progressive and dynamic independent schools.

Notable facets of the College include embracing diversity through ecumenism, the John Paul International College, the International Baccalaureate offering of PYP and DP, the range of pathways available to senior students (including VET and specialist performing arts and sports programs), the Indigenous education program, and its rich ICT environment.

The next Head of John Paul College will be an experienced, inspiring and thoughtful school leader. He or she will lead with Christian values and demonstrate a proven ability to work in partnership with the Board and leadership team, with a strong emphasis on all-round achievement, positive education, global citizenship and mutual respect.

Payroll Officer – Part Time 4 Days per Week (0.8FTE)

The Position

The payroll officer works within the College Finance Team reporting to the Financial Controller and is responsible for:

  • processing fortnightly staff pays, withholding tax remittances and superannuation contributions;
  • maintaining payroll records including leave entitlements;
  • administering employment related matters such as Blue Cards, workplace traineeships and WorkCover returns and claims;
  • servicing staff in relation to payroll related enquiries;
  • assisting the Human Resources Manager, finance staff and other College managers with payroll matters.

The Candidate

Applicants must have an understanding of the ethos and expectations that accompany one of Australia’s leading independent schools.

Experience and Skills Profile

To be successful candidates must demonstrate:

  • specific experience in payroll processing (ADP preferred);
  • strong computer literacy skills;
  • strong customer service orientation.
