Cheerleading and dance is offered as a co-curricular activity for students in Years 1 to 12.
These activities are beneficial for both boys and girls as they promote fitness, teamwork, self-confidence, self-expression and commitment.
Our cheerleading and dance students are confident and self-assured individuals with a healthy self-image and they all enjoy being part of a team of positive role models.
Students audition at the end of each year to be placed into a group that best suits their age and ability level.
During the Dance program, students take part in a range of styles such as jazz, pom, hip hop, lyrical and many more. Groups work towards developing their personal technique and performance style throughout the year.
In the Cheerleading program, students develop skills in jumps, tumbling, dance and stunting. Groups follow correct safety progressions to develop their ability and to be able to further their technical expertise in Levels 1 to 4.
The success of our production “Cirque de Musique” in 2010 prompted the introduction of the Circus program to the School of Performing Arts co-curricular.
Students from Years 4 to 12 are welcome to join the circus program and have the opportunity to work with exceptional and professional trainers from the world-renowned Trix Circus company.
Students who participate in our circus program learn ground skills such as tumbling, adagio, mini-tramp and strength work as well as aerial apparatus such as the lira, web, silks and trapeze.
All students in the cheerleading, dance and circus program have opportunities to perform at school events, in the community and at outside events and competitions.
Interstate and overseas tours are also available for these students.
