Aquatics Programme

Aquatic Centre

Our state-of-the-art Aquatic Centre boasts a ten lane, 25 metre heated swimming pool, change room facilities, marshalling area and a 50-seat function room.

It is home to the John Paul College Aquatic Programme which includes squad training for both junior and senior squads, co-curricular training sessions, an extensive “Learn to Swim program”, water awareness sessions and water polo.

Our club is a Swimming Queensland affiliated club offering swimmers of all ages a quality, first experience of competitive swimming for each participant.  The programme builds a friendly and fun atmosphere, a pathway into school competition and club swimming, and the opportunity to improve and achieve through the discipline and fun of Olympic standard training.

Our aquatics programme offers an opportunity for all our young athletes to be developed as though they are Olympic swimmers and while we appreciate that not every child will be an Olympic Champion, we believe that every child can learn and improve if given the opportunity to train under the same techniques used to train Olympic Champions, in line with the latest developments in the world of swimming.

John Paul College Aquatics gives swimmers the opportunity to:

  • Track, compare and improve their performance in training;
  • Track, compare and improve their performance in competition;
  • Enjoy racing with other swimmers;
  • Train, compete and achieve in a positive and fun environment;
  • Reach new levels in swimming – improve time-standards and/or be recognised and selected as part of the National Junior Excellence Programme;
  • Make the experience positive and enjoyable;
  • Learn and appreciate.
