About Boarding

In 2015, John Paul College became one of over 200 Australian schools who are ‘a home away from home’ for over 21,000 Boarders nationwide. We are excited that John Paul College is be one of the first to offer a unique boarding experience – housing all of our Boarders in a Village style environment. This is far removed from the shadows of the traditional models of dormitories, boarding halls and houses, placing Fenton Village as a ground-breaking boarding experience for the 21st century student.

The Village is nestled into native bushland at the Cec Munns Sports Complex, adjacent to the main College campus. Boarders are housed in a style of accommodation which is a first for any boarding school in Queensland.  Fenton Village has its own vegetable gardens and citrus plantation and recreation and dining halls that embrace the very essence of boarding – spending time with family.

In addition to these creature comforts of the 21st Century  boarding lifestyle, Boarders are cared for by a team of Residential Tutors who also reside in the Village permanently during term time. They assist the Boarders and myself, making Fenton Village a warm and nurturing, family focused environment. Fenton Village is among the most unique boarding experiences in Australia. The Village boasts a boarding lifestyle that embraces diversity, relies on compassion, and engages the challenge, a community which serves others before itself and strives for a healthy and happy home each and every day.

On behalf of John Paul College Family, I welcome you and your family to the residential community that is Fenton Village, and hope that your journey here will be rewarding, fulfilling and successful.
