Early Learning Centre

Early Learning Centre children enjoy readingWe believe that the potential for the children in our care is unlimited and that they possess the unique abilities of inventiveness, creativity and imagination along with a curious love of learning.

Our Early Learning Centre is an integral part of our community and provides loving care in an environment where the Christian faith is our foundation, where our values are embraced and where mutual respect offers a hand that extends to all cultures and faiths.

Children who start with us in the Early Learning Centre can enjoy a nurturing and safe educational journey culminating in their graduation in Year 12.

Each child within our care is unique and this is central to everything we do within the Early Learning Centre.  All children are accepted as individuals with their own personal needs and interests and they are cared for by highly skilled educators within a curriculum which has been designed for each child.

Waitlists and Enrolments

Positions are limited at the Centre and, as a result, waiting lists do exist. To join the waitlist, please register your child by completing the Waitlist Application – Early Learning Centre.

Note: A child can only be added to the waitlist after this form has been completed and returned to the Early Learning Centre Administration Office. Please complete and return this form as soon as possible as all applications to join the waitlist are registered by date of submission.

We will notify you when a place for your child becomes available. It is at this stage, we will ask you to complete a separate enrolment form and return this to the Centre.  Enrolments are registered by date of submission.

Aims of the Early Learning Centre

We aim to provide a total service for families with children in our care by providing:

  • a Christian environment of acceptance and understanding, where children feel comfortable, happy and safe;
  • structures to ensure that two way communication between parents and the Centre is always recognised as vital to achieving each child’s optimal development;
  • warm, professional staff;
  • facilities and resources to enhance each child’s play and learning.

Our Programme

Within our programme, we aim to:

  • value the individuality of each child;
  • stimulate each child’s natural desire to learn;
  • offer quality care and education that is developmentally appropriate for each child;
  • enhance each child’s development of their social, emotional, physical, spiritual, language and cognitive spheres.

Our Programme is implemented through the “Emergent Curriculum” philosophy of teaching and embraces The Early Years Learning Framework.  We align ourselves with the standards and assessment of the National Quality Framework as guided by the Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA).

The outcomes for children involved in this framework are that they:

  • have a strong sense of identity;
  • are connected and contribute to their world;
  • have a strong sense of wellbeing;
  • are confident and involved learners;
  • are effective communicators.

Our daily programme is spontaneous, not structured or predetermined, and our child focussed approach encourages children to be active participants in their own learning environment.

Our Centre

Our Centre provides long-term day care for children aged from six weeks to five years. Services are available from 7.00 am to 6.00 pm, Monday to Friday. The purpose-built five-room facility is air-conditioned and caters for 75 children.   To ensure the individual needs of the children are met, groups consist of appropriately aged children, and we also offer a special Pre-Prep Programme.

Pre-Prep Programme

This unique pre-prep school readiness programme is designed for children aged from 3 – 5 years. The service is flexible to meet the needs of busy working families. Care is offered five days per week from 7.00 am – 6.00 pm throughout the year. All meals are included.
