Games wrap-up: across the 11 days of the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games, the John Paul College family united to cheer on four alumni athletes and their display of athleticism, humility, courage and sportsmanship.
Look out for Genevieve LaCaze (alumnus 2006/07) at the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games.
Genevieve will be competing for Australia in the 3,000m steeplechase. In the video below, she talks about her formative years at John Paul College and her rise to become Australian champion and a dual Olympian.
Congratulations to Year 11 student, Blake Jones who has been selected in the U18 Australian team to compete at the 2018 Albert Schweitzer International tournament in Germany at the start of April.

Dr Ashton Gainsford (Class of 2007) commenced a new job this month – The University of Queensland’s Research Station Manager on Heron Island, an evergreen coral cay surrounded by 24 hectares of coral reef at the southern end of the Great Barrier Reef.
John Paul College congratulates our first College captain, Dr Craig Munns (Class of 1985) on his promotion to Professor of Paediatric Bone and Mineral Medicine, Sydney Medical School, at the University of Sydney.
Play dough and seeing her best friends Tommy and Jack are the best things about Kindy according to Olivia Cope. Olivia joined big sister Annabelle (Year 2) at John Paul College this year. Olivia’s enrolment continues a family tradition with both dad, Todd (1999) and mum, Karen (2001) College alumni.
Yesterday, I was excited to join the new staff of John Paul College for their induction day, and, as our incoming Principal, to welcome them to our wonderful school.
