The JPC Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP)
John Paul College developed a Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) with the involvement of our community members from students, parents, staff and the local community.
After consultation and compilation of our desired actions, the Plan was endorsed by Reconciliation Australia in 2020.
Under the three key areas of ‘Relationships’, ‘Respect’ and ‘Opportunities’, an ongoing plan of action has been set out to demonstrate our commitment to reconciliation, outlining key deliverables for each.
Our Vision for Reconciliation is outlined, and we look to engage with the classrooms, the school and the community.
JPC Acknowledgement of Country
The John Paul College community acknowledges the Yugambeh and Yuggera peoples as the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we live, learn, work and play. We pay our respects to Elders past and present, for they hold the memories, traditions, culture and hopes of First Nations peoples, inspiring our commitment to sustainability and innovation.

JPC Indigenous Artwork
This vibrant Australian Indigenous artwork, by renowned artist Jennifer Kent, intricately captures the essence of the Logan landscape, with John Paul College at its heart. Symbolising the College’s central role within the community, it is surrounded by beautifully rendered undulating hills. Their curves flow across the canvas in natural, sweeping arcs, evoking the rolling terrain. Traditional Indigenous motifs elegantly represent the nearby M1, tracing its route across the land and connecting places and people. The Logan River and its estuaries flow through the piece, signifying the region’s vital waterways. The use of burgundy and blue pays homage to the land’s deep cultural significance, creating a harmonious blend of past, present and future.

JPC Indigenous Connections eBook
We are delighted to share with our College community a 'retrospective' of elements of our Indigenous Education Program through our
Indigenous Connections eBook. National Reconciliation Week is an ideal opportunity to launch this eBook which showcases some of the celebrations, events, connections and partnerships which we've developed over several years. The publication features some proud Alumni, and we look forward to adding to the stories in the future. John Paul College is proud to be making these small steps as we look to enhance our appreciation of and engagement with our Indigenous history and culture.
