Year 9, 10, a​nd 11 Entry | Commencing in 2027

​John Paul College is offering a dedicated scholarship for domestic students entering Year 9, 10 or 11 in 2027 who are serious about a future in medicine or dentistry.​
​
The MedReady Scholarship is for students who already know what they want and are ready to build toward it from the moment they arrive at JPC. It recognises academic ability, scientific curiosity and the kind of personal commitment that a medical career genuinely demands. The scholarship is available at three entry points because the right time to start is whenever a student is ready, and JPC is built to meet them there.​

​What the scholars​​hip pro​vides​

Recipients are enrolled in MedReady, JPC's structured medicine and dentistry pathway program. MedReady is one of the only programs of its kind in Queensland: a school-based pathway that begins as early as Year 9 and culminates in a competitive, well-supported university application in Year 12.

The stage a student enters depends on their year level at JPC:
  • EXPLORE (Year 9 entry – Stage 1). The longest runway. Four years to build the subject architecture, academic habits and health literacy that medicine and allied health programs reward. Students who begin here have the greatest opportunity to shape their entire senior school experience around their health career goal.
  • PREPARE (Year 10 entry – Stage 2). Subject selection for senior school is imminent, and the decisions made in Year 10 are among the most consequential a medicine-aspiring student will make. MedReady Stage 2 ensures those decisions are made with complete information and that no prerequisites are missed before the window closes.
  • ACCELERATE (Year 11 entry – Stage 3). Formal entry into the MedReady preparation program, delivered in partnership with Fraser's Medical. UCAT group sessions, Multiple Mini Interview coaching, university campus visits, alumni panels and personalised QTAC application strategy. Entry into the Year 11 program is by application only.

Who should apply​​​​​

​The MedReady Scholarship is designed for students who:
  • ​Achieve strongly in Science and Mathematics, and are committed to sustaining that performance through senior schooling
  • Have a genuine, considered interest in medicine or dentistry, not simply an open mind about it
  • Demonstrate the resilience, initiative and work ethic that competitive health career pathways require
  • Are ready to commit to a structured, selective program with real academic expectations from the moment they enrol.

Applications for 2027 MedReady Scholarships will close on ​​​Monday 14 September 2026.

For New Students to JPC:

Step 1: Read the Scholarship Terms and Conditions here.
Step 3: Complete the MedReady Scholarship Application Form within the Admissions Portal once commenced enrolment application.

For Current Students at ​JPC:
