In Year 4, students enhance their research abilities and develop autonomy in their learning. They engage in presentations to younger students, building confidence and communication skills and empowering them to take greater ownership of their educational journey.
Exciting Projects and Activities
Year 4 is packed with dynamic and engaging research projects that bring learning to life. From exploring ecosystems to our historic first fleet in-character presentations, students actively participate in hands-on experiences that make learning fun and impactful.
Preparing for their First School Camp
Eagerly anticipating their first school camp, the Year 4 students view this milestone event as a prime opportunity to cultivate leadership, cooperation and teamwork. Through team-building and outdoor activities, they develop crucial interpersonal skills and unlock their leadership potential.
Joining Junior TAS Interschool Sports
Year 4 marks the beginning of our students’ participation in Junior TAS, the Primary school sporting division of The Associated Schools (TAS) competition. The main objective of the competition is based primarily on skill development and participation in an atmosphere of good sportsmanship and fair play. Junior TAS provides a wonderful opportunity to embed skills and an understanding of fair play and sporting etiquette in preparation for TAS in Secondary School.
Exploring the Performing Arts
Our comprehensive performing arts program is dedicated to excellence. Through multiple music ensembles and choirs, cheerleading, dance and drama, we nurture talents, practise to perfection and create unforgettable experiences for every student at JPC. Students can also participate in weekly group and private instrumental, vocal and dance lessons through our tuition program.
Popular Clubs and Extracurricular Activities
Year 4 students can join popular clubs such as coding, science and chess, where they can sharpen their thinking and problem-solving skills. Our gifted and talented program offers enriched learning experiences for those who seek additional challenges.
NAPLAN Preparation
Preparing for the Year 5 NAPLAN assessments is a critical focus during Year 4. Our curriculum is designed to ensure students are well-prepared, fostering essential skills in literacy and numeracy.
Leveraging Technology
