Primary School

Virtual Open Day

An unwavering commitment to educate and develop exceptional individuals who courageously enrich society.

Starting with the right foundations is crucial for the development of student learning and confidence. A JPC Primary School education is not simply about mastering the curriculum but keeping alive a child’s innate sense of wonder, showing children that learning is an adventure worth pursuing. At JPC children develop attributes for learning and living, creating opportunities that develop learners who are thinkers, knowledgeable, communicators, principled, open-minded, caring, risk-takers, balanced and reflective.

Below are a series of videos from our Primary School leaders and subject matter experts. Learn more about our Primary School curriculum and experience John Paul College as our students see it.

    Head of Primary School

At John Paul College, students are encouraged to reflect on their learning as critical thinkers who develop the ability to take action. They become active, caring and thinking participants who show empathy to others. Our goal is for students to remain curious and intrinsically motivated in their pursuit of lifelong learning.

    Primary Years Programme (PYP)

A JPC Primary School education is not simply about mastering the curriculum but keeping alive a child’s innate sense of wonder, showing children that learning is an adventure worth pursuing. The International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (PYP) focusses on the development of the whole child, offering a framework to meet the academic, cultural, physical, social and spiritual development of each person. The inquiry-based approach equips students with a unique global outlook and promotes subject depth and breadth.

    STEM, Design and Innovation

Authentically embedding Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) disciplines in the Primary program maximises student passion and creativity, facilitating real-world skills in an inquiry-based, transdisciplinary framework.

By shifting the focus to a stronger emphasis on learning and applying scientific skills, design thinking and digital and design technology production skills, students create, innovate and explore through real-world contexts.

(Home Language is a term used to describe the language a person learned first and uses the most.)

    Christian Ecumenical College

John Paul College is a Christian Ecumenical College. This means, firstly that Christ and the Christian message is at the centre of the teachings, values and principles we espouse and, secondly, that we promote Christian Unity – that is, a united witness to the Good News of Jesus. Christian Ecumenism recognises that people from different Christian faiths and traditions can work together towards greater unity while each preserves their own traditional faith and practice.
