Mr Mitchell Welch (Class of 2003) Head of Communications at Melbourne Park, Writer and Poet Mitchell is an award-winning poet and strategic communications leader with a talent for storytelling that bridges creativity and strategy. An experienced media, public relations and communications professional and former Secretary of the Victorian chapter of the International Association of Business Communicators, currently Head of Communications at Melbourne Park, Mitchell has led major rebranding efforts, advising senior leaders across the public and non-profit sectors. As a creative writer, Australian Prime Minister’s Centre scholar, and Australia Council grant recipient, his poetry, short stories, and essays have appeared in leading journals such as Meanjin, Overland and The Best of Australian Poetry. Mitchell’s unique ability to craft meaningful narratives continues to influence both the literary and professional communications landscapes, making him a standout in his field. Miss Kristy Wallace (Class of 2013) Professional Basketball Player with the Australian Opals, Australian 2024 Olympian Kristy Wallace is an elite athlete and proud JPC alumnus who has risen to international prominence in women’s basketball. As a guard for the Australian Opals and the Indiana Fever in the WNBA, Kristy recently claimed a bronze medal at the Paris 2024 Olympics. Her journey has been marked by perseverance in the face of injury and an unwavering commitment to personal growth and team success. A passionate leader and role model, Kristy is admired for her humility, grit and communitymindedness. Through sport, she continues to inspire others and aims to use her platform to give back and create a lasting, positive impact. Walk 2025 Our Alumni are one of our greatest sources of pride.
