SOAR - Fourth Edition
PAGE 20 Within the close-knit JPC Alumni community, Nathan and Keisha Strudwick, both esteemed graduates of the College, have forged a path of success in their careers while cherishing the strong bonds they formed during their time at the College. While they initially pursued separate paths, destiny had other plans, leading them to join forces in the thriving realm of real estate. Nathan’s journey at JPC began as a Year 1 student in 1994. Nathan emphasises the sense of community that defined his JPC experience, highlighting the enduring connections formed both within the College and among Alumni in the wider business world. Keisha’s JPC adventure began in 1998 in Year 4. “My family and I would travel from Russell Island every day on the ferry,” Keisha fondly recalls. Through the years at the College, she cultivated friendships and engaged in various sports activities, leaving her with treasured moments, valued memories and a profound sense of belonging. Both Nathan and Keisha are filled with gratitude as they recall the tremendous dedication of their teachers and the wider community in nurturing their potential. Nathan maintains contact with many of his teachers, some of whom have even become his clients. “It’s been great to see the tables turn and the student becoming the master when it comes to selling their homes,” he jokes. Keisha’s face lights up with joy as she expresses her love for the College, saying, “When I bring the kids to school each morning, I immediately get that same happy feeling I had each day when I attended. I love it.” Leadership is no stranger to either of the Strudwicks, Keisha proudly served as a Year 12 Prefect, while Nathan assumed the role of College Captain in 2006. These roles not only revealed their leadership qualities but also solidified their commitment to creating a positive influence within the JPC community. JPC’s influence extended beyond their school years, guiding Keisha and Nathan toward their chosen career paths. Keisha’s passion for home economics, physical education and health subjects, along with the guidance of her teacher, Sheryl Kingsley, led her to pursue a degree in health science and eventually complete a Master of Dietetics degree which is a proud achievement for her. “Nathan would sit outside the home economics room waiting for me on the days he knew I was cooking!” Keisha laughs. For Nathan, JPC provided a springboard to a scholarship at Bond University, where he studied law and commerce. After graduating from university, Nathan ultimately found his passion in the real estate industry and joined Elders, combining his love for people and real estate. Keisha was enjoying her time working as a dietitian at Redland and Logan Hospitals until Nathan encouraged her to obtain her real estate licence to assist with the growing demands of their business. Realising the potential of the business, Keisha eventually left her job as a dietitian to join Nathan at Elders. Nathan was recognised as the number one agent within the Elders brand for eight of his ten years working in the real estate industry. While this has been a great acknowledgement, he still finds the greatest reward in transforming people’s lives through the work he does. “I find people a safe place for their families, or achieve a price that makes a real difference for their future,” he says. The Strudwicks remain actively connected to their fellow JPC Alumni, maintaining friendships that have stood the test of time. The sense of belonging and friendships formed during their JPC years remain; their children and their friends’ children now attend the College, creating a wonderful sense of generational continuity. Envisioning a glimpse into the future, Keisha and Nathan are committed to growing their real estate business while adoring every moment spent with their children. Their shared vision and dedication serve as the driving force behind their aspirations. An inseparable team, Keisha and Nathan continue to stand united, embracing the fast-paced and exciting nature of the real estate world.
