JPC students get #GoldBlooded with legends from the Wallabies
John Paul College hosted Wallaby greats, Lote Tuqiri and Steve Kafu, on Thursday 25 July 2019, for the Brisbane Pitstop of their #GoldBlooded National Tour, aimed at hosting free clinics at local schools, clubs and community events to pass on their skills and help build excitement ahead of the Rugby World Cup, 2019.
Focussing on John Paul College Primary School students from Years Three to Five, the Wallaby greats ran a series of drills and techniques to instil the passion of the game into JPC future sports stars in the making. JPC’s long standing relationship with Queensland Rugby has given many students the opportunity to learn and perfect their craft and, participate in exclusive training programs. Our fantastic facilities and beautiful grounds were the perfect match for the Wallaby greats to host and run the program.
At John Paul College our purpose is To Educate, To Inspire, and To Make a Difference through a variety of educational programs and co-curricular programs which push the status quo when it comes to learning. The #GoldBlooded National tour, allowed for all students in Years Three to Five to rub shoulders with the greats of the game, and broaden their horizons to the great game of Rugby through drills and techniques encouraged to build confidence within our students and their abilities.
“Australian communities and remote areas continue to be the lifeblood of the Australian Rugby identity and to get the opportunity to put smiles on faces and invite them on the #GoldBlooded journey will be a great experience for all of us” says Justin Harrison, Classic Wallabies General Manager
“We want to pass the passion and fantastic tapestry of the Rugby family on to Australians – in particular those who have never experience Rugby or are wanting to be a part of something special” says Harrison.
