A rising star in the making, JPC leader tops The Educator 2021 award
On Wednesday 17 February, John Paul College Dean of Academic Welfare (Secondary School) Mr Jacob Elms, was selected as part of The Educator Rising Stars 2021 list. This prestigious list recognises the industry's best and brightest talent under 40, who together prove that the future of education in Australia is in safe hands.
The 2021 Rising Star award, highlights Mr Elms' invaluable contributions to the Secondary School Academic Welfare program over the past two years, and for his expertise, strength of character, willingness to innovate, passion and vision for the welfare of all students.
JPC's Academic Welfare program focusses on developing the whole learner. It incorporates a series of age-appropriate learning opportunities to develop our student's skillsets and to be responsive to student needs by using evidence-based frameworks. This framework incorporates a multitude of teachers and staff who act as mentors to support students in all their different aspects.
At John Paul College our purpose To Educate, To Inspire, To Make a Difference, is demonstrated through a variety of educational programs and techniques which push the status quo when it comes to learning, excellence and care. Our educational leaders and professional learning support for teachers is a testament to our College purpose and the values we uphold in the community and industry.
'Mr Jacob Elms has demonstrated consistent and innovative teaching practice since first commencing at JPC. He works tirelessly with staff from around the College to ensure our Academic Welfare program is robust and effective in leading positive student outcomes' says Mrs Karen Spiller OAM CF, Principal of John Paul College.
