JPC leaders make The Educator Hot List 2020

On Wednesday 12 August, John Paul College Principal Mrs Karen Spiller OAM CF and Head of Primary Miss Lindsay McQuattie were announced as part of The Educator Australias Hot List 2020. This prestigious list recognises and celebrates professionals who represent the cutting edge of educational excellence in Australia.

The 2020 Hot List highlights Mrs Spiller's and Miss McQuattie's invaluable contributions to the K-12 education sector over the past 12 months, demonstrating excellence in linking theory and practice, and designing and implementing innovations that provide students with high-quality educational experiences, during these unprecedented times.

JPC's robust and strategic continuous learning platform, which was created in the face of COVID-19, successfully supported and assisted in the delivery of learning at home to ensure student learning wasn't compromised. Results from a recent JPC parent survey highlighted the positive correlation our platform had in continually supporting student outcomes and wellbeing.

At John Paul College our purpose To Educate, To Inspire, To Make a Difference, is demonstrated through a variety of educational programs and techniques which push the status quo when it comes to learning, excellence and care. Our educational leaders, co-curricular programs and professional learning support for teachers is a testament to our College purpose and the values we uphold in the community and industry.

'Continuous learning offered a balance between on-screen and off-screen learning for all students. Our students needed to stay connected with their teachers and peers to avoid feeling isolated or frustrated that their learning is not progressing. To facilitate this, we are used videos, forums, learning sharing platforms and live chat as well as a system of collaboration through video conferencing' says Mrs Karen Spiller OAM CF, Principal of John Paul College.

'Supporting our students and JPC community members is our number one priority. It is a true testament to our staff here at JPC that the platform exceeded parent and student expectations and continued to maintain positive student outcomes' says Mrs Spiller.
