Happy New Year to you and your family, I hope you had a restorative and healthy summer break.
I am very much looking forward to welcoming our new students and their families to our beautiful campus at the beginning of Term One.

| We
wish to congratulate the graduating Class of 2020 on their excellent results.
In the first year of the new Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE) and the
Australian Tertiary Admissions Rank (ATAR), the John Paul College community
should be proud of the achievements of our students. We were delighted
with the results of our 2020 Seniors. 33.3% of students achieved an ATAR of 90
or higher, with a median of 86.1. You can read more here.
Our Academic Program is robust and creates academically strong, inquisitive lifelong learners. Our Academic Welfare Program ensures that each of our students, new and continuing, has the very best start to the new school year and continued support throughout their schooling.

We proudly offer an extensive and broad range of co-curricular activities, sports and performing arts. I am sure that whatever your child's interest or passion, we have a sport or activity to strengthen and broaden their appetite.
At our Foundation Day on 29 January, we will celebrate our 39th birthday. Part of the annual celebration is acknowledging long-serving staff as well as those who are Alumni. My heart is warmed by the number of staff who are Alumni and send their own children to the College – a glowing testament to the quality of learning and holistic education that we provide.
As we start 2021, plans are gathering pace for the celebration in 2022 of our 40th birthday celebrations. I look forward to welcoming many of you to help celebrate this wonderful milestone in our College's history.
I share this prayer with you, to calm and strengthen as we begin a new school year:
Loving God,
Our creator, our saviour, our companion,
bless this journey of a new school year that we undertake today.
Refresh our souls and renew our spirits
as we embrace the beautiful ministry you have called us to.
We welcome those who are new to this community and
ask that you strengthen them to share the wonderful gifts you have given them.
Lord, make our hearts pure as we prepare for the return of students to this
school,
and may you guide them to return with open hearts and minds eager to learn.
We ask this in Your name
Amen
