How do I find out more information about becoming a Board Member?

An information evening was held on Thursday, 5 March 2026. Please contact the Company Secretary, Kerryn Campbell for more information serving as a Director of the College.

Who are the current Board of Directors?

  • Mr Benjamin O’Bree (Chair)
  • Mrs Tracy Melenewycz  (Deputy Chair)
  • Mr Richard McCooey (Chair of the Advancement Committee)
  • Mr Andrew Reid (Chair of the Audit and Risk Committee)
  • Ms Sonia Cahill (Chair of the Governance Committee)
  • Mr Con Sotiris (Chair of the Infrastructure Committee)
  • Mr Philip Beresford
  • Mrs Ilham Ahamed
  • Ms Diana Masci

What qualifications and experience do I need to become a Director?

Non-executive directors are expected to have a range of skills and experiences that will benefit the College, including an understanding of company financial information and governance and risk management principles; strong communication and interpersonal skills; and the ability to think strategically, actively contribute and demonstrate independent judgement.

While there are no mandatory qualifications to serve on the Board, prior to the AGM all nominees must:

  • Hold a Blue Card (Queensland's Working with Children Check)
  • Obtain a Director Identification Number (available from Australian Business Registry Services)
  • Complete a national police check.

It is also important that prospective directors are aware of their legal responsibilities, including fiducial duties.

This year, we encourage nominations from candidates with legal, financial management, senior executive or non-executive directorship roles, who may also have primary school-aged children at the College or would contribute to enhancing the diversity of the Board.

How do I nominate for the Board of Directors?
To nominate, please complete a Director Nomination Form and submit it to the Company Secretary, Kerryn Campbell, by 4pm on Wednesday, 15 April 2026. You can contact Kerryn Campbell via email or calling 07 3826 3315.

Candidates will have the opportunity to meet with the Board on Wednesday, 22 April 2026, to discuss the role and learn more about serving on the Board.

If the number of valid nominations exceeds the number of available vacancies on the Board, an election will be held at the AGM. Only Members of the Company can nominate for election or vote. To confirm your membership status, please contact Kerryn Campbell.
