APATA Performing Arts Teacher of the Year 

Congratulations to JPC Head of the Faculty of the Arts and alumnus, Ms Amanda Waddell (1995), who has been awarded by the Australian Performing Arts Teachers Association (APATA) the 2022 Performing Arts Teacher of the Year Award. 

The judge's comments could not be more right, 'Ms Waddell is an exceptional arts and culture teacher, balancing teaching across multiple performance disciplines with health and wellbeing. Ms Waddell is driven by a passion for the performing arts and care for the school community as a whole. Ms Waddell has implemented programming across the arts department with consideration for diversity, and overcoming challenges and has led the school's arts and cultural journey via professional development, supported learning and a program that takes a deep dive to discover new pathways – all benefiting the student body.' 

Congratulations, Ms Waddell, a dedicated and passionate Lead Teacher who has led several initiatives throughout 2021 to enhance the faculty teaching practice and student outcomes. Thank you for all you do for our performing arts teacher.
