Two JPC teachers shortlisted for state teaching awards
On Tuesday 15 September, two John Paul College (JPC) Primary School teachers were recognised as shortlisted nominees in the prestigious TEACHX Awards, the only Queensland Government teaching awards that recognise teachers from all schooling sectors, across all subjects.

| Mrs Alice Pan-Moreau, Year Two teacher at JPC, was shortlisted for the 'Outstanding Contribution to School Community Award' with her Mother Tongue initiative. As an inclusive multi-faith College, we have more than 45 different languages spoken at the College, and this initiative brings children from these cultures together to celebrate and also encourage diversity.
Mr Michael King, Year One teacher at JPC, is another shortlisted JPC teacher in the 'Excellence in Beginning to Teach Award'. Mr King has led the way for early career teachers to receive even more support across the College and won his region's Queensland Training Awards – Apprentice of the Year Award.
